New Indoor Cricket Practice Arena Inaugurated at Netaji Stadium in Port Blair

The Netaji Stadium in Port Blair witnessed a momentous occasion as the newly constructed Indoor Cricket Practice arena was inaugurated by Mr. Nikhil Kumar, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the A&N Administration. The inauguration ceremony, held recently, was attended by officials from the Sports Department, APWD Department, and enthusiastic sports lovers.

Addressing the gathering, Commissioner-cum-Secretary Mr. Nikhil Kumar emphasized the commitment of the Sports Department to bolster sports infrastructure in the Islands. He highlighted the importance of such facilities in nurturing local talent and providing ample opportunities for sports enthusiasts to hone their skills. Mr. Kumar expressed optimism that the new indoor cricket infrastructure would serve as a catalyst for the development of cricket in the region, enabling athletes and youth to excel in the sport.

During the event, Commissioner-cum-Secretary Mr. Nikhil Kumar also took the opportunity to inspect the progress of other ongoing projects in the vicinity of Netaji Stadium. He provided directives to the concerned officials to expedite the completion of these projects, underlining the administration’s dedication to enhancing sports facilities across the region.
