The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. B S Jaglan, IAS, chaired a crucial meeting on March 15th, 2024, at his Chamber in the Secretariat. The meeting, attended by key officials including the Special Secretary (IT) & Joint Director of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) in Port Blair, focused on the revamping of the CEO’s website ahead of the upcoming General Elections to Lok Sabha – 2024.
Discussions during the meeting centered on enhancing the functionality and user experience of the CEO’s website, ensuring that it provides easy access to electoral-related information and educates users about the electoral process. Emphasising the importance of user-centric design, it was agreed that the National Informatics Centre (NIC) would spearhead the redesign process.
The Joint Director of NIC, Port Blair, briefed the attendees about the preparatory work completed for the launch of the revamped website. He highlighted the efforts made to improve the website’s features, functionality, and content to meet the needs of the general public. Mr. Jaglan commended the NIC for their professionalism and swift action in preparing the website.
Furthermore, the CEO instructed the NIC to expedite the launch of the website, ensuring it incorporates streamlined features, improved functionality, and enriched content areas. The aim is to provide a user-friendly interface that facilitates easy access to electoral information for the general populace.
In addition to Mr. B S Jaglan, IAS, the meeting saw the participation of key officials including Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, Special Secretary (IT), Dr. Utpal Sharma, Joint Director, NIC, Mr. Sendil Kumar, Deputy Director (NIC), Mr. G. Sankar, and Nodal Officer (IT), Mr. Shishir Kumar Mishra.
