Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. B.S. Jaglan, IAS, paid a visit to Andaman Law College on March 20th, 2024, engaging with students and staff members. During his visit, the CEO addressed the entire student body of Andaman Law College, focusing on the upcoming General Election to Lok Sabha – 2024, and emphasized the importance of becoming informed voters.
Encouraging active participation in the democratic process, Mr. Jaglan urged the students to exercise their voting rights vigorously in the upcoming election scheduled for April 19th, 2024. He stressed the pivotal role young voters play in shaping the nation’s future and encouraged them to make their voices heard through the ballot box.
Highlighting the significance of verifying their eligibility to vote, the CEO advised students to check their names in the Voter List/Electoral Roll. He informed them that if their names appear on the voter list, they are eligible to vote and encouraged them to verify their details without fail.
To facilitate the verification process, Mr. Jaglan provided various avenues for students to access their voter information. They can utilize the “Voter Helpline App,” visit the online websites https://voters.eci.gov.in and https://www.ceoandaman.nic.in, or reach out via the Toll-Free No. 1950 for any electoral-related queries.
Reiterating his call to action, the CEO once again appealed to all young voters to actively participate in the democratic process by casting their votes on the designated election day, April 19th, 2024.
The visit of the Chief Electoral Officer to Andaman Law College served as a reminder of the democratic rights and responsibilities vested in every citizen, particularly the youth, urging them to play an active role in shaping the nation’s future through their votes.
