Central Crime Station Cracks Down on Illegal Alcohol Trade: 165 Bottles Seized, 8 Persons Arrested

In a concerted effort to clamp down on the illicit sale of alcohol, the Central Crime Station conducted special excise raids spanning from March 30th to April 5th, 2024. The operation yielded significant results as law enforcement officials seized a total of 165 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and apprehended eight individuals involved in the illegal trade.

Led by Sub-Inspector Vinit Kumar Maurya, the police team comprising Head Constables Sanjit Madhu, S. Baroi, K. Venkateshwar Rao, Sanjay Kujur, and Constables K. Rajendran, S. K. Mazumdar, Amos George, and N. Thangaraj conducted targeted operations aimed at curbing the sale and distribution of illegal alcohol.

The eight bootleggers were caught red-handed with the contraband, and they now face legal action under section 32 Reg. III of 1876. This decisive action marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to tackle the underground alcohol trade, which poses various risks to public health and safety.

In a public appeal, authorities urged citizens to come forward with any credible information regarding illegal alcohol sales or any other illicit activities. They can report such activities anonymously through telephone numbers 100, 232586, 233307, or 9434280100, with the assurance that their identities will remain confidential.

This successful operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to uphold law and order and protect the welfare of the community. The Central Crime Station reaffirms its dedication to rooting out illegal activities and maintaining a safe environment for all citizens.
