IGP Presides Over Valedictory Session of Two Days Course on New Criminal Laws Organised at PTS Prothrapur

Inspector General of Police, Ms. Sindhu Pillai. A, IPS, recently presided over the valedictory session of a comprehensive two-day course focused on the upcoming New Criminal Laws. Hosted at the Police Training School (PTS) in Prothrapur, the program aimed to prepare officials from diverse sectors, including Judiciary, Prosecution, Advocates, Law Department, and Prison Department, for the imminent changes in the legal landscape.

The course specifically delved into the intricacies of the New Criminal Laws, namely the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam – 2023, scheduled for implementation on July 1st, 2024. Ms. Sindhu Pillai. A, IPS, honoured the participants with certificates of completion during the ceremony, recognising their commitment to staying informed about crucial legal updates.

The event witnessed the presence of esteemed figures such as Ms. Monika Bhardwaj, IPS, DIGP (Training), Mr. Manjeet Sheoran, IPS, Principal (PTS), and Mr. Ajay Kumar Rai, DANIPS, Vice Principal (PTS). Ms. Sindhu Pillai. A, IPS, commended PTS, Prothrapur, for organising this significant gathering of legal minds.

The active participation of officials from various sectors, including Law, Prison, and Prosecution, along with the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Judges during the course’s inauguration, underscored its success. This collaborative effort signifies a crucial step forward for the justice system, ensuring preparedness and coherence as the nation embarks on this legislative journey.
