Billiground Police Smashes Illicit Liquor Operation in Govind Nagar-2 Forest

In a decisive crackdown on illegal activities, the Billiground Police conducted a successful raid on May 13, 2024, dismantling an illicit liquor production unit hidden within the Govind Nagar No.2 forest area.

Promptly responding to a tip-off, Sub-Inspector M.V Shiju Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Billiground, orchestrated a specialized team comprising Assistant Sub-Inspector Muchray Munda, Police Constable Mustafa, and Home Guard Tatha Rao. Acting swiftly, the team discovered and seized a significant cache of 200 litres of illicit liquor, known as Lehan, along with various materials used in the distillation process. These clandestine materials were concealed within the depths of the jungle.

Under the watchful eyes of Mr. Rahul L. Nair, IPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rangat, and the overall guidance of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District, all confiscated items were promptly destroyed, dealing a substantial blow to the illegal liquor production network.

The authorities urge the public to continue their cooperation by reporting any credible information related to criminal or illegal activities to the nearest Police Station or via phone at No.100, 112 & 03192-273344. The confidentiality of informants will be safeguarded, and suitable rewards will be provided for their assistance.
