India Reserve Battalion and Directorate of Health Services Conduct Successful Multi-Specialty Medical Camp and Blood Donation Drive

On July 5, 2024, the India Reserve Battalion (IRBn), Andaman & Nicobar Police, in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services and the Blood Center at G.B. Pant Hospital, organized a highly successful multi-specialty medical camp and health awareness drive. The event was held at the Conference Hall of IRBn (HQ), Port Mout, and received an enthusiastic response from the community.

An expert medical team, led by Medical Officer Dr. Vivek Saini, along with Dr. Mohammed Irshad (Junior Resident, Orthopedics), Dr. Saurav Singh (Junior Resident, Ophthalmology), and Mr. Supreet Meher (Audiologist, ENT), provided comprehensive medical consultations and treatments. The camp benefited over 200 IRBn personnel and their family members, addressing a wide range of health concerns.

In addition to the medical camp, a voluntary blood donation drive was conducted, garnering active participation from IRBn and police personnel, as well as voluntary donors. The drive resulted in the collection of 25 units of blood, showcasing the community’s strong commitment to supporting health services and saving lives.

The event was meticulously organized by Mr. Naveen Kumar, Deputy Commandant, under the overall supervision of Ms. Shweta K Sugathan, IPS, Commandant, IRBn. Their leadership ensured the smooth and effective execution of the camp, significantly contributing to its success.

This collaborative effort between the India Reserve Battalion, Andaman & Nicobar Police, and the Directorate of Health Services highlights the importance of accessible healthcare and the vital role of community participation in enhancing public health.
