In a determined effort to curb the sale of illicit liquor, the Police Station Crime & Economic Offence (PS C&EO) conducted a significant raid at the Mohanpura Vegetable Market. The operation was led by a dedicated police team comprising ASI Mohammed Rafique, HC K. Venkateshwar Rao, HC Sanjay Kujur, PC Thanagaraj, PC K. Rajendran, PC Srinivas Rao, and LHG(R) Saramma.
During the raid, the officers searched a godown owned by M. Nadi Muthu, son of the late S. Muthu, and owner of VKC Footwear, residing in Garacharma. The search resulted in the recovery of 95 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), which were being stored for sale at lucrative prices on dry days.
The confiscated IMFL bottles were seized after completing all required formalities in accordance with the new criminal laws. A case has been registered under Section 32 of Regulation III of 1876 at PS C&EO.
Police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or credible information regarding the sale or possession of contraband or any other illegal activities.
