The 1st International Conference on Computational Intelligence for Security, Communication, and Sustainable Development, organized by DBRAIT in collaboration with the IEEE Computer Society (CPS), commenced on 5th June 2024, in the conference hall of DBRAIT, Port Blair. The two-day event was inaugurated by Prof. K. K. Aggarwal, President of South Asian University and former Chairman of the National Board of Accreditation, Government of India.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Aggarwal congratulated the DBRAIT team for their dedicated efforts in organising the conference on such a grand scale. He underscored the importance of artificial intelligence and sustainable development for developing nations, emphasising the need to take risks to achieve career success. His inspiring speech sparked curiosity and interest among the attendees, motivating the next generation of researchers and innovators.
Mr. L. Kumar, IAS, Secretary of Higher Education for the A&N Administration, served as the Chief Patron of the event. In his speech, he praised the organising team and encouraged participants to fully leverage the research findings and collaborate towards sustainable development.
The conference also featured Prof. Dr. Makarand Madhao Ghangrekar, Director of NITPY, as the guest of honour. Prof. Ghangrekar delivered an extensive talk on sustainable development, highlighting AI applications in various fields such as resource management, environmental monitoring, waste management, climate modelling, renewable energy, agriculture, urban infrastructure optimisation, healthcare, urban flooding, and conservation.
Dr. Om Pal, Associate Professor at the University of Delhi, presented groundbreaking research on quantum computing and discussed advancements inspired by nature in his inaugural address.
Dr. V. Alagusundaram, Principal (i/c) of DBRAIT, welcomed the gathering, while Dr. Shoaib Kamal, Program Chair, provided an overview of the two-day conference. The event saw enthusiastic participation from academicians, researchers, and students in both online and offline modes. Dr. Shrabani Mallick, Organizing Chair, delivered the vote of thanks, and Dr. S. Raji, Co-Organizing Chair, coordinated the entire program.
The conference is set to continue with a series of presentations and discussions aimed at advancing the fields of computational intelligence and sustainable development.
