The President of the Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC), Mr. Rangalal Halder, has formally appealed to the Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS) to urgently restore the suspended shipping services between Port Blair and Diglipur. The suspension, which has lasted for the past week, has caused significant disruptions and hardship for residents, students, and regular commuters who rely on these services for essential travel.

In a letter addressed to the DSS, Mr. Halder expressed deep concern over the challenges faced by the affected passengers. He noted that the suspension has left many stranded, leading to severe inconvenience and a disruption of daily routines. The lack of a reliable transportation link has compounded the difficulties for those who depend on the shipping services for their urgent travel needs.

Mr. Halder stressed the importance of maintaining a consistent and dependable ship schedule, not only to resolve the current situation but also to prevent similar issues from arising in the future. He urged the DSS to prioritise the matter and take immediate steps to reinstate the shipping services between Port Blair and Diglipur.

The ANTCC President’s call for action reflects the growing concerns among the island’s residents and the necessity for swift intervention by the authorities.
