More than 70 passengers who intended to travel to Nancowry and Campbell Bay by M.V Kalighat today i.e 27th April 2021 tested positive for COVID-19 at Port Blair. These passengers had undergone RT-PCR tests in the last two days at Port Blair.
There are hundreds of residents of Campbell Bay and Nancowry who are stuck in Port Blair and were in urgent need to travel to their homes.
Nicobar District has been COVID-19 free and no case has been detected in the recent surge until now.
The District Administration is taking all precautions to ensure that if COVID-19 enters the district, its spread is curtailed.
