In keeping with its commitment to zero tolerance against drugs, a raid was conducted earlier at Phoenix Bay by a dedicated team led by Inspector Vishal Ram, SHO, Police Station Aberdeen. The team comprised Inspector Mithun Kirtania, Sub-Inspector Abhishek Haldar, Head Constable S. Jiju, and Constables Jairaj, Mohd. Rafique, Jagdish Babu, Surender Singh, and Naw Elieen. The raid had led to the apprehension of an accused individual with 2.140 kg of ganja.
A case under the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Aberdeen, and the investigation was entrusted to Sub-Inspector Tejeshwar Rao.
During the investigation, the names of the primary supplier of the seized ganja—a resident of South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, currently present at Sri Vijaya Puram—and a local retail distributor from Atlanta Point, Sri Vijaya Puram, were revealed. This meticulous approach led to the swift apprehension of the primary supplier, Indrajit Halder, 27, R/o South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, and the retail distributor, Mohd. Subhan Ali, 24, R/o Atlanta Point, who was allegedly selling ganja to the youth of these islands.
The entire investigation was supervised by Miss Anushtha Kalia, IPS, SDPO South Andaman.
