In an effort to promote cleanliness and raise awareness about sanitation, the Women Helpline-181 under the Directorate of Social Welfare conducted cleanliness drives as part of Swachhata Campaign 4.0 from October 2 to October 31, 2024. This initiative, part of an annual series of Special Campaigns, focused on enhancing community participation and fostering sustainable sanitation practices across the region.

As part of the campaign, the Women Helpline-181 team organized cleanliness drives in strategic locations, including Prem Nagar village near the Community Hall and along Sea Shore Road in Chatham. The drives aimed to reinforce the importance of cleanliness, waste management, and responsible sanitation among residents.

Participants included dedicated staff members from Women Helpline and Child Helpline, along with local representatives, such as Ward No. 7 Councillor Mrs. Amar Devi and Ward No. 2 Councillor Mr. Someshwar Rao. Local residents also actively engaged in the initiative, highlighting the community’s commitment to creating a cleaner and healthier environment.

The Swachhata Campaign 4.0 exemplified the collaborative spirit of these annual drives, with officials and community members working together to establish cleanliness as a shared responsibility. The Directorate of Social Welfare expressed hopes that such efforts would inspire ongoing community-driven cleanliness and waste management initiatives.
