Government ITI Dollygunj inaugurated its much-anticipated Mega Job Fair on November 6, welcoming nearly 200 enthusiastic candidates, many accompanied by supportive family members, to explore potential career paths in one of India’s premier construction companies. The job fair, set to run until November 14, provides an invaluable platform for job seekers to interact with prospective employers and gain direct insights into industry expectations.
The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp-lighting, symbolizing hope and new beginnings, led by chief guest Mr. Srinivasa Rao, Labour Commissioner & DET, joined by Mr. Dharani Natrajan, representing L&T-CSTI, and Mr. Venketesh. Ch., Principal and Deputy Apprenticeship Advisor.
In his address, Mr. Rao praised the collaborative efforts between Govt. ITI Dollygunj and industry leaders such as L&T, emphasizing the importance of skill development in today’s economy. He reminded attendees that the growth of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands—and beyond—depends on skilled individuals like them.
Principal and Deputy Apprenticeship Advisor Mr. Venketesh. Ch., welcomed participants and underscored Govt. ITI’s dedication to quality training and career-building for local youth. Highlighting the fair’s role in bridging the gap between education and employment, he encouraged candidates to seize this unique opportunity, stressing that their hard work and commitment would be the foundation for successful careers.
Mr. Dharani Natrajan from L&T CSTI, Kanchipuram, a longstanding partner of Govt. ITI Dollygunj, spoke on the institution’s decade-long contribution to shaping a skilled workforce. His remarks focused on the essential role of hands-on training, industry alignment, and the professional growth pathway that the fair offers.
A special online session featured insights from Mr. M. Niranjan Mishra, Advisor at L&T, along with L&T-CSTI principals Mr. D. Baiju Dasappan and Mr. Ashwat Arun Shetty. Their presentations highlighted the career potential within L&T and inspired attendees to pursue skills tailored to the demands of the construction industry.
The job fair’s highlight came during the selection process, where 95 candidates received on-the-spot selection letters, marking an exciting first step in their professional journeys. The families of the selected candidates shared their pride and optimism, viewing this moment as the beginning of a brighter future with ample growth and learning opportunities.
