Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Sri Vijaya Puram, inaugurated the District-Level Yuva Utsav – 2024 at Tagore Government College of Education, Middle Point. The event, dedicated to fostering creativity, leadership, and social responsibility among youth, revolves around the theme of Panch Pran, focusing on building a developed and united India.
The festival features a diverse lineup of activities, including:
– Science Mela Exhibition (Group and Individual Events)
– Young Artists Camp (Painting Competition)
– Young Writers Camp (Poetry Writing)
– Photography Workshop
– Declamation Contest
– Cultural Festival (Group Events Only)
On the first day, the Photography Workshop and Young Writers Camp – Poetry Writing competition attracted around 60 enthusiastic participants.
The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Ms. Jagtap Kalyani Rajendra (DANICS, 2021), currently serving as Director (Fisheries) and Joint CPA in the UT Administration. She delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the vital role of youth in realizing the vision of a developed India (Vikshit Bharat). Her heartfelt poem on Panch Pran deeply resonated with attendees.
Guest of Honour Dr. Manju Lata Rai, Principal of Tagore Government College of Education, underscored the significance of such platforms in nurturing young talent and leadership.
The event also welcomed several dignitaries, including Dr. Sunita Patil, Dr. Nripendra Narayan Singh, and esteemed educators such as Ms. Urmila Chakraborty, Ms. Anita Sharma, Ms. Harjit Kaur, Ms. Rajni, Ms. Deepa, and Ms. Neeta Chandra.

The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour were welcomed with shawls and bouquets. Mr. Sukh Ranjan, Deputy Director (OSD), NYKS, delivered the welcome address, outlining the event’s objectives. Mr. Gopal Ch. Biswas of Nehru Yuva Kendra proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the seamless coordination of the program.
The District-Level Yuva Utsav will conclude on December 9, 2024, with a grand prize distribution ceremony at Tagore Government College of Education. The final day will feature the Science Exhibition and Cultural Festival. The Declamation Contest and Painting Competition are scheduled for December 6, 2024.
