Sanjay Kumar Singh, State Vice President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has written a letter to the Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Administration and Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District requesting them to lift the restrictions currently enforced in Nicobar District.
Sanjay Kumar Singh in his letter has written that restrictions have been enforced in Nicobar District in view of the surge in COVID-19 cases across the Islands. He further mentioned that there has been no sailing of passenger ship to the district for several days and also no cases have been detected in the district.
He further mentioned that the residents are facing a lot of problems because of the restrictions imposed in the district. He also mentioned that the restrictions have been imposed in the district even when there are zero cases and no chances of the infection entering the Islands of the district because of unavailability of any transport medium.
He also stated that the labours and the daily wage earners are the ones who are most affected by the restrictions which are enforced.
Nicobar District has zero COVID-19 cases currently and the district has not reported any positive cases of COVID-19 in the second wave.
