The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, in collaboration with the Department of Education, Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), and other departments, is set to organise a Padyatra on January 23, 2025, as part of the Parakram Diwas celebrations. This event marks the 128th birth anniversary of the legendary freedom fighter, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The Padyatra will commence from Flag Point, South Point, at 8:00 am and conclude at Netaji Stadium at 10:46 am. Participants are requested to assemble at Flag Point by 7:30 am. The Hon’ble Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Ms. Raksha Nikhil Khadse, will be the chief guest for the event and will flag off the rally in the presence of senior officials from the Andaman & Nicobar Administration.
Route of the Padyatra: The rally will cover a route spanning Flag Point → Rama Krishna Mission → Swimming Pool → Narayan Chowk → Clock Tower → Bengali Club → LIC Building → Gandhi Statue → Clock Tower → Narayan Chowk → Cellular Jail → Water Sports Complex → Narayan Chowk → and culminate at Netaji Stadium.
The event will feature cultural performances at six key locations: Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Statue, Clock Tower, YMCA, Gandhi Statue, National Memorial Cellular Jail and Netaji Stadium (Finishing Point).
At the concluding venue, Netaji Stadium, Ms. Raksha Nikhil Khadse will participate in the felicitation ceremony and cultural programme scheduled to begin at 10:30 am.
