An orientation session was organized for Block Staff and Self-Help Group (SHG) members on the implementation of the Integrated Farming Cluster (IFC) under the Mahila Kisan Shashakti Karan Pariyojna (MKSP). The training took place on January 30 and 31, 2025, at the Directorate of Rural Development (RD), Marine Hill.

The IFC project aims to promote key agricultural activities, including Poultry and Goatry in C.D. Block Prothrapur and Ferrargunj, Fisheries in C.D. Block Rangat and Mayabunder, and Dairy activities in Diglipur. The training provided Block staff and SHG members with the necessary knowledge and guidance to successfully implement and scale these activities. Support will be provided through hand holding by relevant line departments to ensure effective utilization of Government schemes and resources.

This initiative aims to uplift SHG members by enhancing their income and empowering them to take active roles in agricultural decision-making. It highlights the integration of various farming activities as a pathway to strengthening women’s involvement in agriculture and allied sectors, thus improving their economic standing.

Ms. Sapna Priya, Director of RD, addressed the gathering and encouraged the participants to engage with the program with enthusiasm and dedication. She emphasized that the successful implementation of IFC-MKSP would significantly improve livelihoods, promote sustainable economic development, and contribute to financial inclusion in the region by fostering local capacity and entrepreneurship.

Ms. Reshma Singh, SPM-Livelihood at ANIRLM, led the training, providing in-depth insights into the program’s structure and its potential impact on rural livelihoods.

The session concluded with a pledge from all attendees to work collaboratively towards achieving the goals of the program, ensuring better livelihood opportunities for rural SHG members.
