The XXVI Vice President of India Cup Soccer Championship 2024-25 concluded with a grand closing ceremony at BJR Stadium, Tamaloo, Car Nicobar, on February 17, 2025. The prestigious event was graced by Mr. Amit Kale, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, as the chief guest.
Mr. Lionald Nicomede, Chairman, Tribal Council, Car Nicobar, attended as the guest of honour, alongside other dignitaries, including Mr. Muneer Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Car Nicobar; Mr. Solomon Samuel, Deputy Superintendent of Police; and Rt. Rev. Thomas Nathan, Bishop, A&N Diocese.
The tournament saw intense competition, with A&N Command emerging as the champion, securing the winner’s trophy and a cash prize of ₹50,000. Sri Vijaya Puram claimed the runner-up title, receiving ₹35,000 and a trophy, while Nancowrie Team finished as the second runner-up, bagging ₹25,000 along with a trophy.
Individual accolades were also presented during the ceremony:
- Best Goalkeeper: Manoranjan Toppo (A&N Command) – ₹5,000 & trophy
- Best Emerging Player: Ronaldo (Car Nicobar) – ₹5,000 & trophy
- Highest Scorer: Nikhileon Francis (Sri Vijaya Puram) – ₹5,000 (scored 4 goals)
- Best Disciplined Team: Campbell Bay – Trophy
The Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, handed over the trophies and prizes to the winners, marking a successful conclusion to the football championship.
