The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Project, Rangat, under the guidance of the District Administration, North & Middle Andaman, celebrated International Women’s Day and the 10th anniversary of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium, Rangat.
With this year’s theme, “She Builds Bharat,” the event featured various programs aimed at inspiring courage, strength, and determination. Highlights included a spot quiz with instant felicitation, cultural performances, and Nukkad Natak (street plays) presented by ICDS functionaries, focusing on breaking barriers, believing in dreams, and the importance of hard work and dedication.
To promote nutrition awareness, Inter-Panchayat recipe competitions were held. Mothers participated in the “Dadimaa ki Rasoi Se” contest, showcasing millet-based recipes, while adolescent girls took part in “Young Chef,” preparing low-cost, nutritious food.
In celebration of a decade of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, ICDS Rangat organized a series of events covering sports, skill development, e-learning, plantation drives, gender sensitization, mental health awareness, and capacity building for Anganwadi workers and helpers (AWWs/AWHs). Awareness sessions on the PCPNDT Act were also conducted.
The winners of various competitions were felicitated by Mr. Vikash Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, Rangat, who graced the occasion as the chief guest, alongside Pramukh, Rangat, and Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Rangat.
The event served as a powerful reminder of the role women play in shaping society and reinforced the commitment towards their empowerment and education.
