Residents of Sri Vijaya Puram are set to witness a breathtaking aerial spectacle as the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) of the Indian Air Force takes to the skies over Marina Park on March 12 and 13. The airshow, scheduled from 3:30 PM to 4:15 PM on both days, promises to be a thrilling display of precision flying and aerial manoeuvres.
Recognised as the “Ambassadors of the Indian Air Force”, SKAT is among an elite group of nine-aircraft aerobatic display teams worldwide. The team is known for its dynamic formations, high-speed passes, and synchronised aerial acrobatics that captivate audiences at national and international events.
The event is being organised to inspire the youth of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to consider a career in the Armed Forces while fostering a sense of patriotism and admiration for India’s defence personnel. Schools and colleges in Sri Vijaya Puram have been encouraged to attend the event, ensuring that students get a firsthand experience of the skill and precision exhibited by the country’s top fighter pilots.
Authorities have called for wide publicity to ensure maximum participation, making this a must-watch event for aviation enthusiasts, students, and the general public alike.
