BSNL’s ADSL Broadband, 4G Service Down in Campbell Bay after Thunderstorm

BSNL ADSL Broadband Service for many customers and 4G mobile services are down in Campbell Bay since the 4th of June 2021, after a thunderstorm hit the area.

FTTH Internet services and 2G mobile services are functioning normally. Landline service of BSNL is also completely down and is likely to be restored by this evening.

Nicobar Times spoke to the SDO, Car Nicobar who informed us that the services will likely be restored on Monday. He added that BSNL will be sending a team to Campbell Bay to rectify the faults.

BSNL’s BTS as Shastri Nagar, Campbell Bay is also down from a long time because of issues in some equipment. SDO, Car Nicobar informed Nicobar Times that the fault in the Shastri Nagar BTS will also be rectified soon after the team of BSNL reaches Campbell Bay.

The residents of Campbell Bay were facing a lot of difficulties in making voice calls since yesterday afternoon, but the services have considerably improved since this morning.

The pandemic has drastically increased the demand for telecom services especially Internet. The residents of the remotest villages are now demanding high speed internet connectivity to stay connected to the outside world.

Online Classes are the new normal for the education sector and students need uninterrupted internet connectivity to self educate themselves.
