103.4 Grams Methamphetamine Seized by PS Pahargaon, STS Driver Arrested

In a significant drug bust, a driver employed with the STS Department and residing in old Garacharma Basti was arrested late Tuesday night after police recovered over 103 grams of methamphetamine from his possession.

Acting on a tip-off, a raiding team led by ASP Shruti Yaragatti, IPS, Station House Officer of PS Pahargaon, Insp. Mohd. Elias, SI P K Shivhare, SI Manish Narayan, HC/1329 Ravi Kumar Limbu and PC/3015 Shiv Kumar, carried out a well-coordinated operation near the Church of God in Garacharma around 9:40 PM on April 15. The operation was conducted under the supervision of ASP Vikas Swamy, IPS, SDPO (South Andaman), who was present at the scene as well.

According to the FIR, credible intelligence was received earlier that day suggesting the suspect would arrive in the area to conduct an illicit drug transaction. Following this, a raiding team was swiftly assembled and dispatched.

During the raid, the suspect was intercepted while arriving on a motorcycle at the targeted location. Upon search, a multicoloured shopping bag in his possession was found to contain a transparent polythene packet with a crystalline substance. The substance later tested positive for methamphetamine using a drug detection kit, weighing approximately 103.4 grams.

The seized methamphetamine and the motorcycle used by the accused were taken into custody. The suspect was arrested under Section 22(C) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
