Pahargaon Police Seizes 213 Grams of Ganja in Dollygunj; One Held

In a decisive anti-narcotics operation, the Pahargaon Police seized 213 grams of illicit ganja from Dollygunj and apprehended one individual on 16th April 2025. 

The case originated after credible intelligence was received indicating that an individual had transported ganja from Chennai and was attempting to sell it near the Supply Godown area in Dollygunj. The information was immediately reported to SHO, PS Pahargaon, Shruti Yaragatti and SDPO Vikas Swamy through a confidential note. Upon receiving directions, a police team was constituted to act on the information.

The raiding team included SI P. Jeevan, PSI A. Santhosh, PC Deepankar Mondal, PC Mohini, and PC 1511 Naw Sasay. PC Uday Kullu assisted as the driver of the departmental vehicle. Two independent witnesses were also brought in to observe the search and seizure process.

On reaching the location, the suspect was intercepted.

During the search, police recovered:

(1) Nine silver-coloured packets containing suspected ganja,

(2) One digital weighing machine, and

(3) Empty silver-coloured packet covers weighing approximately 43 grams.

All nine packets were opened in the presence of the independent witnesses and the police team. The contents were found to be partially dry green leafy substances consistent with ganja, confirmed by sight and smell. The total weight of the recovered ganja was 213 grams.

The accused was subsequently taken into custody under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
