New Sub-Centre Inaugurated at Sippighat to Boost Rural Healthcare

In a significant step towards enhancing rural healthcare infrastructure, a newly constructed Sub-Centre at Sippighat, under the jurisdiction of PHC Manglutan, was inaugurated on 09th May 2025. The facility was formally unveiled by Dr. Anil Agarwal, IAS, Secretary (Health) and Managing Director, UTHM, A&N Administration.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Agarwal emphasized the critical role of Sub-Centres in delivering accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare at the grassroots level. He highlighted the centre’s potential in promoting health awareness and enabling early medical interventions within the community. He also urged residents to actively utilize the healthcare services offered at the new facility.

The event was attended by key officials including Dr. Suja Antony, Director of Health Services; Dr. Siddaraju, Deputy Director (Family Welfare); Ms. Sarika Devi, Zilla Parishad Member; and Ms. Jyothi, Pradhan of Sippighat Panchayat.

To mark the occasion and underscore the importance of sustainable healthcare, the inauguration concluded with a plantation drive. Dignitaries and community members jointly planted saplings around the Sub-Centre premises, symbolizing a commitment to both health and the environment.
