In a significant push to connect young talent with employment opportunities in the tourism and allied sectors, the Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO), in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM), organised a Rozgar Mela at the JNRM Auditorium.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. H.K. Sharma, Principal of JNRM, who served as the Chief Guest. Mr. M. Vinod, President of AATO, attended as Guest of Honour and addressed an enthusiastic gathering of students, faculty members, recruiters, and industry representatives.
The employment fair drew participation from over 300 students, primarily final-year and recently graduated students from programs including BBA (Tourism), B.Com, BCA, and M.Com. Twenty reputed organisations from the tourism and service sectors conducted interviews and interactive sessions throughout the day.
The mela concluded on a high note, with more than 40 candidates receiving placement offers. Organisers hailed the outcome as a strong indicator of both employer interest in hiring locally and student preparedness to enter the workforce.
AATO expressed its gratitude to JNRM for its support and reaffirmed its commitment to fostering local talent and contributing to the skilled workforce needed for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ expanding tourism industry.
