In a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of voluntary blood donation, the Community Health Centre (CHC) Nancowry, in collaboration with the A & N AIDS Control Society and the State Blood Transfusion Council, observed World Blood Donor Day on 14th June 2025 with great enthusiasm and community participation.
This year’s theme, “Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives”, inspired a strong turnout from healthcare professionals, local residents, and personnel from various departments including the armed forces.
The event was spearheaded by Dr (Lt. Col.) Nirmal Bajpai, Officer-in-Charge of CHC Nancowry, who underscored the vital role of a safe and consistent blood supply in saving lives. He urged all eligible individuals to make blood donation a regular practice and become active participants in this life-saving mission.
Naval personnel from INS Kardip, staff from various government departments, and villagers across the region came forward to pledge their support. Many registered as voluntary blood donors, reaffirming the community’s commitment to healthcare and solidarity.
CHC Nancowry extended its gratitude to all contributors for their enthusiastic support and for helping make the program a resounding success.
