District Magistrate, Nicobar District has partially modified the orders issued earlier and has relaxed the restrictions imposed in the District.
Shops selling essential items such as Provision Stores, Vegetable Shops, Shops Dealing with food, groceries, fruits, dairy and milk booth/shop, meat and fish, animal feed/fodder, bakeries shall be allowed to open between 6:00 Am to 3:00 Pm by observing COVID appropriate behaviour.
Godowns and allied establishments which were permitted in the earlier orders will now be able to operate till 6:00 Pm for non-business purposes and they have been instructed not to cater to any customers.
Port Services will continue to operate as usual and both essential and non-essential cargo can be moved in and out of the port, as per requirement for loading/unloading/clearing of cargo and the same shall be permitted till 6:00 Pm.
Shops dealing with non-essentials have also been allowed to open everyday between 6:00 Am to 3:00 Pm. By observing COVID appropriate behaviour.
Restaurants/hotels/Guest House/Eateries can continue operations beyond 3:00 Pm till 8:00 Pm only for home delivery/parcel and room service.
Construction Activities have been permitted from 6:00 Am to 3:00 Pm.
Construction Activities of national importance and strategic projects shall be permitted with the prior approval of the respective Assistant Commissioner.
Various fines have been prescribed in the order for Shops and Establishments violating the order along with provisions for sealing of the shop/establishment for 14 days by the Executive Magistrate.
