In a focused effort to protect Government land from unlawful occupation, the Revenue Department of South Andaman carried out an eviction operation recently at Garacharma village.
During the inspection, officials discovered an unauthorized temporary structure along with fencing erected on Government land, violating land regulations. Acting swiftly, the team deployed necessary manpower and machinery to remove the illegal encroachments.
As a result, approximately 0.04 hectares of land were cleared and restored to the Government khata. The eviction was conducted peacefully and in an orderly manner, ensuring the reclaimed land is now reflected correctly in official revenue records.
The District Administration of South Andaman reiterated its firm zero-tolerance stance against illegal occupation of public land and urged citizens to refrain from encroachment. Authorities called upon the public to cooperate in preserving the integrity of Government property.
For inquiries or to report illegal encroachments, residents can contact the District Control Room at 03192-240127, 238881, 1070, or via WhatsApp at 9531888844. The identity of informants will be kept confidential to protect their privacy.
