Lt. Governor Reviews Progress of 100-Day Intensified Campaign Under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

Admiral D. K. Joshi (Retd.), PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM, Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Vice-Chairman of the Islands Development Agency, chaired a review meeting on the ongoing 100-Day Intensified Campaign for Tuberculosis (TB) Elimination under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan recently.

The meeting, held at Raj Niwas, was attended by the Chief Secretary and senior officials of the A&N Administration. During the session, a detailed presentation was made on the efforts being undertaken across the Islands to achieve the national goal of TB elimination.

The Administration has drawn up a comprehensive roadmap aimed at reinforcing administrative commitment through multi-layered independent monitoring mechanisms and enhancing community support. Special emphasis was laid on the role of Nikshay Mitras in providing nutritional support to TB patients.

Deputy Commissioners of North & Middle Andaman and Nicobar Districts, along with other key stakeholders, joined the deliberations via video conferencing, underscoring a coordinated approach toward eradicating TB from the Islands.
