The All India Conference of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), held in Kozhikode, Kerala, from June 27 to 30, 2025, witnessed active participation from across the country, including the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Abdul Warish, Convener of the SFI Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee, represented the islands at the national forum.
During the conference, which brought together nearly 800 delegates and observers from 28 states and union territories, Warish highlighted the unique challenges faced by students in the remote islands. He stressed the need for a stronger SFI presence in the territory to amplify student voices and address pressing local issues through a united national platform.
The conference was inaugurated by veteran journalist Sashikumar and noted theatre activist MK Raina on June 27. Over the course of four days, delegates engaged in wide-ranging discussions on education policy, social justice, and student rights.
New national office bearers were elected, with Adarsh M. Saji taking charge as President and Srijan Bhattacharya as General Secretary. Former Presidents and General Secretaries, including Prakash Karat, were felicitated for their enduring contributions to the student movement.
The event concluded with a grand rally at Kozhikode Beach on June 30, addressed by several leaders including Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who reaffirmed the importance of student activism in shaping a progressive society.
