In a significant step towards digital transformation and improved citizen services, the Department of Posts has announced the rollout of its next-generation APT (Advanced Postal Technology) application across all Post Offices in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, scheduled for implementation on July 15, 2025.
As part of the transition to this upgraded digital platform, the Department has planned a temporary suspension of public transactions on July 12, 14, and 15, to ensure a smooth and secure system upgrade. During these days, no public-facing services will be available at the post offices, as critical processes such as data migration, system validations, and configuration tasks will be carried out.
The new APT application promises a faster, more intuitive, and customer-friendly interface, aimed at delivering a superior user experience and enabling more efficient service delivery. This initiative underscores the Department’s ongoing commitment to building a digitally empowered postal network aligned with the goals of nation-building and digital governance.
Citizens have been advised to plan their postal visits accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the scheduled downtime. The Department has reiterated that these measures are being undertaken to provide better, faster, and future-ready services to all customers.
