Tree Plantation Drive Organized at Veer Savarkar International Airport as Part of 76th Van Mahotsav Celebrations

As part of the month-long celebrations marking the 76th Van Mahotsav, the Forest Extension & Publicity Division (FE&PD) organized a Tree Plantation Drive on 10th of July 2025, at the premises of Veer Savarkar International Airport, Sri Vijaya Puram. The initiative aimed to raise environmental awareness and underscore the crucial role of trees in sustaining ecological balance.

Mr. Devendar Yadav, Director of Veer Savarkar International Airport, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The event witnessed the active participation of Mr. K.G. Russogi, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer (FE&PD), officials from the Airport Authority, forest staff, and workers from the division.

A total of 140 seedlings were planted during the drive, symbolizing the collective commitment of the participants towards environmental conservation.

Van Mahotsav, observed annually across the country, serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of trees and the shared responsibility of citizens in preserving natural resources.

The plantation drive was conducted under the overall supervision of Dr. S. Dinesh Kannan, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (R&WP), and concluded successfully with enthusiastic community participation, reflecting the true spirit of Van Mahotsav.
