Monsoon Cycle Rally Promotes Fitness and Anti-Drug Message in Sri Vijaya Puram

In a vibrant celebration of health, community spirit, and environmental consciousness, the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, A&N Administration, successfully organized a 12 KM “Monsoon Cycle Rally” for both men and women on Saturday, 19th July 2025.

The rally saw enthusiastic participation from around 75 cyclists representing a diverse mix of school students, officials from the Andaman and Nicobar Command, national-level cyclists, and members of the general public, ranging from young children to senior citizens.

Aimed at promoting physical wellbeing and advocating for a drug-free lifestyle, the event served as a call to action for youth to embrace active and eco-friendly habits. The initiative also underscored the power of community-driven events in fostering a healthy and united society.

The rally was flagged off from the Netaji Stadium Main Gate by Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, Secretary (IP&T), A&N Administration. Cyclists pedaled along a picturesque monsoon route to PS Chatham and returned to Netaji Stadium, completing the 12-kilometer ride.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Mr. Gyan Sheel Dubey, Head of Office, Directorate of Education, who lauded the efforts of participants, volunteers, officials, and partner organizations in making the event a resounding success.
