The District Administration, Nicobar, has launched the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign as part of the nationwide Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, inspiring citizens to display the National Flag at their homes, workplaces, and public buildings. The initiative aims to instill a spirit of patriotism, unity, and pride, while honouring the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters.

Government offices, educational institutions, community organizations, and local residents have actively participated in the campaign, which runs from August 13 to 15, 2025. Special programmes were organised, including a District-Level Flag Yatra and Bike Rally from Edward Kutchat Park via Gandhi Chowk to Priyadarshni Hall, Tamaloo, a ‘Selfie with Tiranga’ event at Priyadarshni Hall, and a Signature Campaign at the DC Office in Car Nicobar.

As part of the celebrations, Tiranga Quizzes and Drawing Competitions will be held in schools at Car Nicobar on August 14, while the National Flag will be hoisted at homes across the district on August 14 and 15. Awareness drives, rallies, and cultural programmes are also being organized to ensure maximum participation.

The campaign has received overwhelming support from Tribal Village Councils and Village Captains. Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Amit Kale, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, said: “The Tiranga is a symbol of our unity in diversity. Through Har Ghar Tiranga, we are not just hoisting a flag; we are hoisting our shared dreams, values, and love for the nation.”

The District Administration has urged all citizens to follow the Flag Code of India, 2002 to ensure the National Flag is displayed with dignity and respect. (Story Based on PR)
