The Department of Art & Culture, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, has announced a vibrant Theatre Festival to be held on September 25–26, 2025, at Sri Vijaya Puram. The festival aims to showcase the richness of Indian literature while promoting theatre as a powerful medium for social reflection and artistic expression.

Cultural associations and theatre groups across the Islands have been invited to participate by staging adaptations of renowned Indian literary works. While scripts may be based on literature written in any Indian language, the performances must be presented in Hindi. Original plays inspired by contemporary social themes such as education, gender equality, mental health, and environmental awareness are also encouraged.

As per the guidelines, each participating group must submit a complete script or screenplay to the Department of Art & Culture for review and approval. The plays should have a duration of 40 to 60 minutes, ensuring an engaging theatrical experience.

Selected entries will be staged during the two-day festival, with the Department providing venue arrangements, basic stage setup, and promotional support. The last date for submission of entries is September 19, 2025.

Interested groups may contact the Department of Art & Culture for submission guidelines and further details. Queries may also be directed to the Artist (Art & Culture) over phone no. 9933241678.
