Anil Kumar Tiwari, Sanjay Kumar Singh Meet CS to Push Urgent Demands of Residents of Great Nicobar, Receive Immediate Positive Response

During the recent visit of Mr. Anil Kumar Tiwari, State President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands to Great Nicobar, the residents of Great Nicobar demanded resolution to two urgent matters of public importance:

  1. Re-Staring concession on Ship Tickets for those holding valid resident certificates.
  2. Providing land to the residents of Gadda Basthi as proposed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin to start construction of their homes.

After returning back from Great Nicobar Island. Mr. Anil Kumar Tiwari along with Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh met the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration seeking that both the demands of the residents be immediately accepted.

Speaking to Nicobar Times, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh informed that Chief Secretary immediately took cognisance of both the demands. For the demand of re-starting the concession on ship tickets on resident certificates, the CS immediately instructed the authorities to do the needful and those holding resident certificates will be able to travel at the same ticket cost as those holding Islander Card and Local Certificates on ships.

On the demand of allotment of land for the residents of Gadda Basthi for construction of houses under PMAY-G, the CS informed that land allotment process will be completed soon so that Gadda Basthi Residents can start construction and ultimately move out of the area which falls under Indian Navy.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh expressed gratitude to the Chief Secretary for his prompt response on both demands, and also thanked Mr. Anil Kumar Tiwari, State President, BJP for swiftly raising the concerns of the people of Great Nicobar.
