Nikshay Shivir Organized at Mohanpur to Strengthen TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

As part of the ‘TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’, the District TB Centre, Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder, organized a Nikshay Shivir at Ayushman Arogyamandir, Mohanpur, with special focus on the vulnerable population of the remote area.

During the camp, the District TB Officer (DTO) conducted an awareness session on Tuberculosis (TB), explaining its signs and symptoms, the benefits of the Nikshay Poshan Yojana, the Nikshay Mitra initiative, and the critical role of early detection, timely treatment, and preventive measures in controlling the disease.

Following the awareness programme, participants were transported to Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder, where they underwent X-ray and sputum examinations. The Mayabunder Unit of the State Transport Service (STS) provided a bus to mobilize people from the remote locality. Screening was carried out by Dr. Christina Rossity, DTO; Dr. Alice Bwa, Medical Officer, DTC; and the supporting medical team.

The programme was attended by several health officials, including Mr. Madhava Rao, District Programme Coordinator (DPC); Ms. Punyawati, Community Health Officer (CHO); Mr. R. Durga Rao, Senior Treatment Supervisor (STS); Mr. Dulal Mandal, PMDT Coordinator; Ms. Sanjitha Soreng, TBHV; and ASHAs.

A total of 105 individuals participated, out of which 99 vulnerable persons underwent X-ray examination.
