The Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism (IP&T), A&N Administration, has issued an advisory to all adventure watersports operators in the Islands, cautioning them against fraudulent and unethical practices.

Scuba diving, sea walk, parasailing, kayaking, and snorkelling—key attractions for visitors—have recently come under scrutiny following complaints of misrepresentation of services, irresponsible conduct, and violations of the A&N Islands Watersports Guidelines, 2015, along with related terms and conditions.

The Directorate warned that such malpractices not only damage the reputation of the Islands as a safe and reliable tourist destination but also undermine the livelihood of genuine service providers.

Operators at Swaraj Dweep, Shaheed Dweep, and Sri Vijaya Puram have been directed to strictly adhere to prescribed guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintain professional conduct while dealing with tourists, and refrain from any fraudulent, misleading, or unethical activity that could compromise tourist safety and confidence.

The advisory further stated that any violation or misconduct reported against operators will invite strict action, including suspension or cancellation of registration.

Meanwhile, tourists have been urged to report any instance of malpractice to the Directorate of IP&T at 03192-232694 or via email at touristhelpdeskandamans@gmail.com
