Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad Conducts Mega Blood Donation Camp to Mark PM Modi’s Birthday at JNRM

The Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of JNRM, organized a Mega Blood Donation Camp to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, at the JNRM Auditorium on 17th September 2025. The event also coincided with Vishwakarma Jayanti.

Admiral D. K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Vice-Chairman of the Islands Development Agency, inaugurated the camp by lighting the traditional lamp.

In his address, the Lt. Governor lauded the Parishad for its remarkable initiative, noting that the organization has made its mark in the World Book of Records by collecting more than 2.5 lakh units of blood in a single day. He emphasized that while donations of wealth and food are valuable, blood donation holds a unique sanctity as it saves human lives. Describing it as the “most precious gift of life,” he commended the Parishad’s spirit of voluntary service.

The camp was attended by senior officials of the Administration, including Ms. Chanchal Yadav, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, and Ms. Richa, Secretary (Health), along with other dignitaries.

A total of 81 donors came forward to donate blood during the camp. The process was facilitated by the technical team from the Blood Centre, G. B. Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram, and the A&N AIDS Control Society. Donors were screened as per medical protocols, and certificates of appreciation were handed over to participants.

The programme began with a welcome address by Mr. Mahender Marlecha, Coordinator, Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, and concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Kandimuthu, Assistant Professor and NSS Coordinator, JNRM.
