A non-residential football coaching camp has been launched at three venues in South Andaman – Dollygunj Ground, Bhatubasti Ground, and Rangachang School Ground – under the initiative of the Deputy Education Officer, South Andaman. The camp, aimed at school-going boys and girls aged 8 to 17, is completely free of cost.

The camp was inaugurated on 18th September 2025 at GSSS Bhatubasti Ground by Mr. Vikram Singh, Director of Education & Sports. In his address, Mr. Singh highlighted that the primary objective of organizing such sports activities is to keep students engaged in healthy pursuits and away from harmful habits like drug use. He also encouraged girl students to actively participate and make the most of their free time on sports fields.

Around 200 children from various schools attended the camp. Mr. Biswanath Sen, Assistant Director (Sports & PE), Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, proposed the vote of thanks.
