In a move to promote reading and access to educational resources, the State Library under the Directorate of Education, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, has announced free membership for residents of all ages across the Islands.
All government and public school students are automatically enrolled as members, ensuring young learners can easily access the library’s collection of books and educational materials.
The Directorate of Education has streamlined the enrolment process to make membership simple and accessible:
- For Students: A valid school ID card is sufficient for free membership.
- For Other Residents: Government-issued ID or Aadhaar card for address proof, along with a passport-sized photograph, is required.
Interested individuals can register for membership by visiting the State Library between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
This initiative reflects the Administration’s commitment to fostering a culture of reading and learning within the community.
