The Department of Community Medicine, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS), recently conducted comprehensive health and awareness campaigns under the national initiative ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Bambooflat, and nearby schools.

The two-week campaign aimed to promote preventive healthcare and early detection services, with a special focus on empowering women and adolescents. Over 350 individuals from the local community benefited from the initiative, including school-going adolescents and women of reproductive age.

Key activities during the campaign included health talks on anemia prevention and management, dedicated cancer awareness and screening sessions—particularly emphasizing breast cancer—personalized nutritional counseling, and awareness sessions to reinforce essential hygiene practices among adolescents.

The initiative reflects ANIIMS’ continued commitment to improving community health outcomes through education, early detection, and targeted interventions.
