As part of the 71st Wildlife Week celebrations, the Biological Park, Chidiyatapu organized a series of engaging activities, including Poster Making and Stone Painting competitions, a Film Screening, and an educational tour inside the park on October 4 and 6. The events centered around the theme of the endemic animals of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Students from Government Senior Secondary Schools of Rangachang, Prothrapur, Bathubasti, Garacharma, and Tushnabad enthusiastically participated, showcasing their creativity and awareness about the Islands’ unique wildlife. Students from Government Primary School, Chidiyatapu also took part, displaying keen interest, imagination, and understanding of animal life and their habitats.
The initiative aimed to offer students an immersive wildlife learning experience, helping them identify various species, appreciate their uniqueness, and understand the importance of conserving natural habitats.
The programme concluded with closing remarks by Ms. Meera Nambiar, Deputy Director, Biological Park, Chidiyatapu, who emphasized the collective responsibility and commitment required to safeguard the Islands’ rich and diverse fauna, in line with the spirit of Wildlife Week 2025.
