Ms. Amrita Minj, a former trainee of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Special Training Centre (STC) Sri Vijaya Puram, is representing India at the ongoing Asian Rowing Championship 2025, being held from 13th to 19th October in Hai Phong, Vietnam.

Hailing from Birsanagar (EFA), Tugapur, North & Middle Andaman, Amrita’s journey in rowing began in September 2017, when her exceptional sporting skills earned her selection at SAI STC Sri Vijaya Puram. Under the guidance of dedicated coaches, she honed her techniques, improved her performance, and won medals at various national-level competitions.

Her remarkable achievements at the Centre paved the way for her selection at SAI NCOE Alleppey, where she continued her training and gained opportunities to compete in international events.

The Sports Authority of India has extended its best wishes to Amrita, describing her journey as a shining example of hard work, perseverance, and the transformative impact of coaching, inspiring young athletes across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
