District Administration South Andaman Evicts Encroachments Over 2,000 Sq. Mtrs of Government Land at Radhanagar in Swaraj Dweep

In a determined move to safeguard public land and preserve community spaces, the District Administration, South Andaman, has intensified its drive against encroachments and illegal occupations across the district.

As part of this ongoing campaign, a major eviction drive was carried out on 17th October 2025 at Radhanagar village, Swaraj Dweep, during which revenue officials successfully cleared encroachments over approximately 2,000 square meters of Government Revenue Land. The team detected and removed unauthorized arecanut and vegetable plantations that had been raised on Government property, subsequently restoring the area to its original condition.

The Administration reiterated its firm stance against any form of illegal occupation or misuse of Government land and warned that strict legal action will be taken against offenders.

To ensure transparency and encourage public participation, the District Administration has urged citizens to report instances of encroachment or illegal construction. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential, and all credible reports will be acted upon promptly.

The District Administration reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the integrity of Government land and called for the continued cooperation of the public in safeguarding community resources.
