As part of the ongoing month-long ‘Monsoon Book Reading Festival 2.0’, the State Library has been organizing a series of engaging competitions and activities on the Sundays of October 2025 to promote reading habits and a love for literature among students.

On 19th October 2025, the library conducted daily conversation practice in English and fun activities such as Book Relay for students of Classes VI to VIII. The event provided a vibrant platform for young readers to express their creativity and strengthen their connection with books.

Similarly, under the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ programme organized on 18th October 2025, the State Library hosted a drawing competition for Classes I to V and elocution and essay competitions for Classes VI to XII. Students from both Government and Private Schools participated enthusiastically, showcasing their talents and emerging victorious in various categories.

Ms. Archana Singh, Deputy Director (Education Planning) & Nodal Officer (State Library), Directorate of Education, graced the events as the chief guest. She interacted with the participants and encouraged them to make full use of the State Library’s extensive facilities, which include a rich collection of children’s books, general knowledge materials, fiction, storybooks, and resources for competitive examinations. She also urged students to actively participate in the library’s weekly programmes designed for their overall enrichment.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of the ‘Monsoon Book Reading Festival 2.0’ as a token of appreciation and motivation. The winners of the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ competitions will be felicitated during the closing ceremony scheduled for 26th October 2025.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Anbarasan, In-Charge, State Library.
