SBI Donates Smart Board to CRC A&N Islands Under CSR Initiative

In a move to strengthen digital learning and inclusive rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities, the State Bank of India (SBI), under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, donated a state-of-the-art Smart Board to the Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The handover ceremony took place on 21st October 2025 at the CRC campus, Brookshabad.

The event marked a significant step toward advancing tele-rehabilitation, online training, and capacity-building programmes aimed at empowering the Divyangjan community across the Islands.

The Smart Board was formally handed over by Mr. Santhosh Sahu, Regional Manager, SBI, Sri Vijaya Puram; Mr. C. Raj, Director, RSETI, SBI; and Mr. K.N. Raju, Chief Manager, SBI, to Ms. Sumithamol S., Director, CRC A&N Islands.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Santhosh Sahu said, “SBI is proud to associate with CRC A&N Islands in promoting inclusive digital education and rehabilitation services. Through this CSR initiative, we aim to contribute to the empowerment and well-being of persons with disabilities in the region.”

In his welcome address, Mr. Venket Ramana, Assistant, CRC A&N Islands, highlighted that the Smart Board will greatly enhance online training, tele-rehabilitation, free coaching, and awareness programmes conducted by the centre.

Concluding the event, Ms. Sumithamol S., Director, CRC A&N Islands, expressed her gratitude to SBI officials for their valuable contribution and commended the bank’s continued commitment towards empowering persons with disabilities.
