In a continued effort to safeguard public land and uphold the law, the District Administration, South Andaman, has intensified its coordinated encroachment eviction drive aimed at reclaiming government land from illegal occupation.
In the latest phase of the operation, an under-construction residential RCC structure, found to be built on government revenue land at Nayashahar Village, was demolished. The eviction team, supported by heavy machinery including a Hitachi excavator, successfully cleared the site, reclaiming approximately 50 square meters of government land. The reclaimed area has since been restored to the Government Khata by the Revenue field staff.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance stance against encroachment, the District Administration has urged citizens to refrain from occupying public land illegally and to extend their cooperation in preserving government property and public spaces.
Residents have been encouraged to report instances of encroachment or related issues to the District Control Room through phone numbers 03192-240127, 238881, 1070, or via WhatsApp at 9531888844. The Administration has assured that the identity of informants will remain strictly confidential.
