South Andaman District Administration Holds Training Session for BLOs on Special Intensive Revision

The District Administration of South Andaman recently conducted a training-cum-refresher programme on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil at the DBRAIT Auditorium, Dollygunj.

The session was presided over by Mr. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman), and attended by Mr. Kamaleshwar Rao, IAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (South Andaman), Ms. Priyanka Kumari, Additional District Magistrate (South Andaman), and Ms. Tripti, IAS (P), Assistant Commissioner (UT).

Addressing the BLOs and BLO Supervisors, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of the Special Intensive Revision and stressed strict adherence to the timelines set by the Election Commission of India. He directed field staff to ensure that no eligible voter is left out during the enumeration process. The progress of the ongoing SIR exercise was also reviewed during the meeting.

The programme served as an interactive platform for BLOs to share challenges faced during door-to-door verification. Their issues were noted for timely resolution to ensure a smooth and accurate revision process.

The District Administration reiterated its commitment to conducting the Special Intensive Revision efficiently and ensuring an inclusive and error-free electoral roll ahead of upcoming electoral processes.
